A living room update and what I've learned about my style

Hello friends! If you have been reading this blog for awhile you've seen the evolution of this room over the past 3.5 years. I am constantly changing things up as my style evolves and I learn what I truly love. When we first moved in I painted everything white, because I didn't what else to do, and shoot everyone was painting their walls white. Over time I realized I wanted more color and warmth on the walls, so I chose Mindful Gray by Sherwin Williams. It is the perfect gray for this space, and it gives me that warmth I was looking for. Here is what I have learned about my style over the past couple years.

  1. I LOVE color.....those pink rugs we are seeing everywhere on Pinterest.....LOVE them, however I don't love color in my home....other than blue...navy blue....green only through plants...and white. I guess our home is so loud and crazy as it is, I feel I need neutrals around me to calm the atmosphere.
  2. WAIT before changing up a room after I see a picture on Instagram or Pinterest I fall in love with. Especially if it's outside of my comfort zone. I have spent a lot of money repainting walls, changing out rugs, and purchasing fabric for yet another set of curtains.
  3. Copy the look from my favorite room in my house. Let the look spill over into all the other rooms. It gives a very peaceful cohesive feel instead of your home looking like it's having an identity crisis.

You will notice we ditched the coffee table, because let's be honest....my boys needed space to wrestle :)Have a wonderful day!Marianne
