Laundry Love

LLI love my mother for so many reasons, but one of my favorite reasons is she taught us girls at an early age to do our own laundry. Now as an adult with a huge amount of laundry floating around my house on any given day I don't find the task so daunting. Let me be clear it's might still be my least favorite chore, but I have a system and it works. I do a load every day no matter what! This summer I added a new dimension to our laundry system, one I got from my mother.Once school let out, I took Sadie and Mia to the dollar store to pick out their very own laundry baskets. Now at 4 and 6 it's easy to get these girls excited about almost anything, especially when shopping is involved. Each girl picked out her laundry basket and proudly put it on her bed. When I fold the laundry, instead of putting theirs away I put it right in that dollar store laundry basket, and their new summer job is to put it away. This is enforced with the marble jar system we do during the summer (I will write a post on how that works!). The drawers might not be perfect, but they are learning!
