A Garden

Hi friends! As a family, we've been talking about a garden for quite awhile now, and some amazing Florida fall weather inspired us to take the plunge.My goal with the garden is to give us a family project we are all invested in, save a little money in our weekly grocery budget, and give me an opportunity to work on my not so green thumb.After mapping out where in the yard we wanted the garden located (I made sure our sprinklers hit all the beds), we went about killing the grass to make way for mulch and raised boxes.Drew found these awesome cedar raised boxes on Amazon You don't even need a power tool to put the beds together! The boards just slide into each other, and you are ready to go.We used a weed barrier fabric, and then we placed the soil on top.We are going to grow blueberries, strawberries, sweet peppers, herbs, spinach, kale, and romaine lettuce.Check out this handsome 3 year old.....taking it very seriously!We have a lemon tree, orange, and lime tree as well.Let's just say Mama's legs were swollen after today's work :)I plan to landscape all around the garden, because I want it to be pretty.Hopefully next weekend we can finish.....before baby comes!!!!Have a wonderful week!Marianne
