How to recover a chair

DIY

Ok friends here is my disclaimer.....I am not a professional!!!!If you are please skip this post as I am sure I will not live up to your expectations. :)So with that said, here is how I redid this chair.chair beforemafter4First I painted the chair with flat white paint I had laying around the house. Then I used a walnut glaze. I wiped it everywhere with a rag, and then wiped it off again, leaving a little in the creases. Finally I used a clear sealer so the paint would not chip.howtochair1Next I removed all the fabric and nail heads leaving the batting.howtochairI used the old fabric as a template to cut my new fabric, one section at a time.Using a stable gun I attached each piece I cut to the chair, careful to pull each piece as tightly as I could.I used a simple trim to cover the staples instead of the nail head.I applied it with a hot glue gun.The project cost me less than $25 as I got my fabric and trim 50% off at Joann's fabric. Here it is again!chair beforemafter4So don't be afraid my friends! You can do it too!!! Be brave and give it a shot. I promise it really is that easy :)Good luck!
