Disappearing Apple Pie

I made two apple pies over Thanksgiving break, both of which disappeared before I could take a picture for this post! So needless to say my pie was super yummy, and when you make it your family will treat you like the amazing domestic goddess you are! This year with moving (we move in 9 days!!!!) I cheated and did not make my own crust, but basically I follow a simple recipe with cold butter (now veggie substitute) cute unto cubes and cut into about 2 cups of flour adding ice cold water in tablespoons until my dough forms. Then:Peel and thinly slice 6-8 granny smith apples. In a large bow add 1/2 cup of brown sugar, 1/2 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/2 tea spoon nutmeg, 1 tablespoon flour.Add apples and mix.Spoon  mixture into pie crust.Top with 3 tablespoons butter or vegan substitute.Place pie dough top over entire pie.Brush with egg yoke, and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.Cut 3 slits into the top of you pie.Bake at 350 degrees for around an hour.ENJOY!!!!
