Creativity
I love those summer days when we have nothing planned. I don't have to rush the girls around, make sure the clothes they pick out match before we leave the house, or wake Wit up from a nap because we needed to leave 5 minutes ago. Yes, I love the lazy days of summer. Those lazy days produce some serious creativity with my girls. Of course there is the usual whining when they ask to watch a show and I say "go play outside!" But you know I have the BEST memories of playing with my sister for hours on end while my mother tended to the baby, cleaned the house, and performed her duties of a pastor's wife. We invented all kinds of crazy games entertaining ourselves.I am still holding out with my girls with the DS, or iPad, or any other gadget they don't really need that will take them away from creative play. I feel it is so important for them to learn to entertain themselves, to be forced to turn on that amazing brain of theirs to create something amazing.Don't get me wrong, we watch TV, and they play video games on Disney Jr on my computer, but only for a short period of time, and not every day.Sadie LOVES building houses right now for her "people." She builds them out of anything! Blocks, sheets, and now books!LOVE this girl!
