Once upon a time (as in a few hours ago) my front entry looked like this. Which was fine, but who really wants their front entry to be just fine? Enter SW Black Fox. Oh how I am in love with this charcoal-gray-black. And I know you are not supposed to pick your paint colors in the paint store, but I did! I pick 5 that looked very similar to me, and then I walked around the store looking at them in different lights and at different angles, and sure enough one started looking too blue, too brown, . . .
I have always been a morning person. Like the kind of person who woke up at 5am ready to roll from the time she was a baby until early teens. I think my mom was a little worried. Something had to be wrong with this crazy 13 year old who woke up at 5am every morning! HA! Then I went to college, stayed up too late for 4 years, hung out with my night owl hubby, and then had 4 babies who didn't sleep through the night until they were 1 year old PLUS (Wit at 18 months!). Through those experiences I . . .
Happy Monday friends! Here is a little fall inspiration for you from my dinning room today :) I moved the curtains from the family room in here. My mom came over one Friday afternoon with a box of fall decor she was ready to get rid of, and she and Sadie went to town in here. So the space has extra warm fuzzy feelings when I am in it, because I know people I love made it theirs. My grandmother gave me this wonderful mirror. Have a wonderful day! . . .
There is nothing like ordering something online, anticipating it's arrival for a week, then when it finally shows up on your doorstep you tear open the box, and it exceeds your expectations! Hi everyone! I wanted to share a couple of iphone pictures of the kitchen project progress. So far I ...... Painted the walls - SW Mindful Gray Painted the cabs - antique white chalk paint Added new hardware - HERE Took off the cabinet doors Painted the back of the cabinets in black chalkboard paint This is what it looked like when we moved in Then when I didn't know what else to do, I painted everything WHITE! Now here we are today. Happy . . .
So here is my backsplash before. It was new and modern, but it clashed with the colors in my home with it's green and brown tiles. As I started painting the cabinets, I really couldn't decide what to do about it. Ripping it out and putting in what I really wanted was not in the budget, but I couldn't live with it either. My awesome hubby suggested as I was whining to him about it, "why don't you just paint it?" HELLO!?!?! What a great idea! I of course paint everything anyway! A couple of coats of chalk . . .
I snapped a couple of quick pictures on my iphone to share with you the progress in the kitchen. I am LOVING the color I chose for the bottom cabinets. It is an oatmeal color, and I chose it because it will not show as much dirt as a true white. Also I wanted to do something a little different in my farmhouse inspired kitchen. I plan on painting the upper cabinets white with some open shelving. Pretty cool what a little paint can do :) Hope you are having an amazing . . .

We moved the boys upstairs right after Christmas. It's funny...all Mia wanted was a room of her own when we moved in, so the girls each had their own room upstairs, and Wit was downstairs in an office converted into a room. A few months later, Mia moved herself right on into her sister's room. So once Wit could go up and down the stairs by himself, I knew it was time to make the move the move upstairs for him. His room is now our family office - craft room - Knox's room. Until Knox is sleeping through the . . .
Happy week of Christmas! I am READY! I did ALL my shopping online this year, and my gifts are wrapped and ready to go! However I'm soooooo ready to have my closet back, because of my tornado son Wit they live there until the big day. Here is a peak at the progress I've made in the dinning room :) BEFORE IN PROGRESS I redid the chairs in painter's drop cloth and painted a navy stripe on the back for a french grain sack look at 1/2 the price! I'm saving for a . . .
