Simple Light Peaceful These are the words that ran through my mind when I started updating our master bedroom. It is right off the family room so everyone sees it when they come over which means I can't leave it for another day. Plus I have come to realize it's important to feel good about the space where you lay your head at night. Here is a fun little reminder of the journey this room has taken over the past almost 2 years :) There are a lot of little special . . .
The teal pumpkin project
We are joining FARE (Food allergy research and education) this year in their teal pumpkin project. You can help all children have a safe and fun Halloween by displaying a teal pumpkin outside signifying that you are offering candy AND non-food treats to those with food allergies. We took one of our old faux pumpkins and spray painted it teal. The boys were more interested in taking all the decorations off the porch and lining them up in the yard, but they were still good and CUTE helpers . . .
Fall in the dinning room
Happy Monday friends! Here is a little fall inspiration for you from my dinning room today :) I moved the curtains from the family room in here. My mom came over one Friday afternoon with a box of fall decor she was ready to get rid of, and she and Sadie went to town in here. So the space has extra warm fuzzy feelings when I am in it, because I know people I love made it theirs. My grandmother gave me this wonderful mirror. Have a wonderful day! . . .
Kitchen cabinet progress
I snapped a couple of quick pictures on my iphone to share with you the progress in the kitchen. I am LOVING the color I chose for the bottom cabinets. It is an oatmeal color, and I chose it because it will not show as much dirt as a true white. Also I wanted to do something a little different in my farmhouse inspired kitchen. I plan on painting the upper cabinets white with some open shelving. Pretty cool what a little paint can do :) Hope you are having an amazing . . .
House Tour

Kitchen Updates
Here is our breakfast nook..... The table is from WoodYou. Drew and I stained it and painted it ourselves 5 years ago and it has held up AMAZING with all the love it gets on a daily basis. Happy Tuesday! . . .
Southwest chicken
Super easy slow cooker southwest chicken (dairy free) In a slow cooker on the 6 hour setting add 4-6 chicken breast then the following: 1 packet taco seasoning 1 can diced tomatoes 1 diced green pepper 1 diced onion 1 can of black beans 1 cup of frozen corn 1 can of chicken broth (you can make this like a taco soup and add more if you choose) Shred the chicken before serving, and serve with sliced avocado, fresh cilantro, and your favorite chips. Enjoy! . . .
Big HUGE bow day!
Why can't every day be as Sadie calls it "BIG HUGE BOW DAY?" Why do my beautiful girls insist on wearing tacky vacation souvenir t-shirts with shorts and scraggly hair instead of the sweet smocked dresses with matching bows I bought them that are now collecting dust in their closet?!?!? Raising girls is a wonderful, emotional journey for sure! I remember all the emotions (good and bad) that ran through my house growing up with 2 sisters. We loved HARD and we FOUGHT hard! And my mother did her best to . . .
The Episode
That's what we call it. The day Wit had a anaphylaxis reaction to milk. The day God spared my little boy. The day I will never forget. All I wanted to do was have a little break from nursing this baby who ate every 2 hours so I could cook dinner. My dear friend was over and offered to feed him some formula I had bought. The chicken on the stove, I remember her yelling to me that he was spitting up. The minute I entered his room and saw him I knew something was wrong. He had only had an ounce of formula. . . .
