Hi friends! I get a lot of questions about how I make our boy/girl shared room work, especially with the age difference. So, I thought I would share a little bit about that today. These are a few BEFORE pictures...... First let me say this room is still in the beginning stages. When I found out I was pregnant with #5 I immediately worked on a game plan for our home. "How in the word were we going to fit all these kids????" We have 3 bedrooms and an office with a closet we use as a 4th bedroom. It has . . .
Hi friends! As a family, we've been talking about a garden for quite awhile now, and some amazing Florida fall weather inspired us to take the plunge. My goal with the garden is to give us a family project we are all invested in, save a little money in our weekly grocery budget, and give me an opportunity to work on my not so green thumb. After mapping out where in the yard we wanted the garden located (I made sure our sprinklers hit all the beds), we went about killing the grass to make way . . .
We are joining FARE (Food allergy research and education) this year in their teal pumpkin project. You can help all children have a safe and fun Halloween by displaying a teal pumpkin outside signifying that you are offering candy AND non-food treats to those with food allergies. We took one of our old faux pumpkins and spray painted it teal. The boys were more interested in taking all the decorations off the porch and lining them up in the yard, but they were still good and CUTE helpers . . .
Mia snapped this picture of Knox this morning on my iphone, and I love it! This sweet little man is 11 months. What a wonderful gift he is to our family. He truly loves his mommy, loves being a baby, loves the outdoors, and boy does he ever love food! I am still nursing! With each baby I set the goal to nurse for 1 year, and I have yet to make it, but I think Knox and I are going to get there. It sure hasn't been easy with 4 rounds of mastitis and a hungry baby who nursed around the clock in the . . .
Oh summertime..... It's crazy nuts around here. Loads and loads and LOADS of laundry. Late nights and early mornings for me = cups of coffee all day long. I am 100% exhausted everyday and fall asleep overwhelmingly thankful I get to live this life. Everyone is at such an awesome age...I know this will be one of my favorite summers ever. Swimming lessons every morning make for great afternoon naps and some quiet time for me to paint. I got super inspired one afternoon and started on the . . .
Mia and I went on a field trip today with her second grade class. What a great way to start the week! She and I have very few days we get to spend together just the two of us. I need to be more intentional and plan more of them. She was the one who started this whole motherhood thing for me after all, and today I am reminded how much I cherish these special days together. I remember so vividly rocking Mia to sleep as a newborn one night thinking to myself, "I will NEVER go through that (labor) again! I . . .
It is those little things that make life that much sweeter, like when I catch Wit jumping along with Knox as Knox explores his jump-a-roo. Their eyes are locked on each other. Little brother admiring big brother, and big brother learning to love his little brother. Or when I drag myself up the stairs for the 1000th time at the end of the day to say goodnight to the girls, and I hear Mia reading to Sadie. I peak in and Sadie is listening intently laying on her tummy with her head propped on her hands. Or . . .
Hello friends! We are super excited this Valentine's week. Sadie is turning 6 on Wednesday. 6! I am in disbelief. But, it is happening whether I like it or not. I remember being so excited 6 years ago that she might be born on Valentine's Day. She was so close! The 11th is the prefect day though. A great way to bring in the love this week by celebrating my sweet Sadie right before Valentine's Day. . . .
Oh boy oh boy oh boy am I in LOVE with this little boy! He is the PERFECT finale to my baby making years :) He is 17 pounds of joy and sweet laughs. He loves being a baby, and he eats up all the attention his 3 siblings shower him with. After 4 kids I have learned that sometimes you can't fight the funk.....so when he grew out of his rock and play where he slept 9+ wonderful hours a night in, and I placed him in his beautiful brand new crib where he slept no more than 30 mins at a time in, I scooped up . . .
Hi friends!!! Happy New Year....um a little late :) I have been working like a little busy bee around here. We moved the boys room upstairs and turned their old room into a family office/craft room.....HELLO I LOVE IT!!!! I was so motivated by this great idea to divide your home up over 12 months to organize and work on projects that I wasted no time in making my list! Up first in the month of January is my garage...uggggg!!!! But it must be done. Next month I'm moving on to remodeling the laundry . . .
