Hello friends! If you have been reading this blog for awhile you've seen the evolution of this room over the past 3.5 years. I am constantly changing things up as my style evolves and I learn what I truly love. When we first moved in I painted everything white, because I didn't what else to do, and shoot everyone was painting their walls white. Over time I realized I wanted more color and warmth on the walls, so I chose Mindful Gray by Sherwin Williams. It is the perfect gray for this space, and it . . .
Yes the elephant in the room, let's just say it is, "you haven't bogged in 9 months!" I know! I know! So ,much life has happened in 9 months, but here we are again. Thank you for sticking with me. Thank you for finding your way here again. You might notice I changed the name of my blog to This Loud House (from Marianne's Blog). For a few reasons, one I only chose my original name because I couldn't think of anything better, and two because This Loud House truly describes the state of things around here . . .
Hi friends! Thank you for all the sweet comments on baby Helen's room! I love hearing from all of you :) Today I wanted to share with ya'll how I make a 3 bedroom house, white couches, modern farmhouse, cozy minimalistic style work for our soon to be family of 7! Now if you stop by my house between the hours of 4pm and 8pm, you will see a true category 5 hurricane on any given evening, but by 8:30pm pillows are fluffed, back on the couch (from whatever fort they were a part of), counters cleared and . . .
Hi friends! I am excited to share with you baby Helen's nursery today. I am a few weeks away from her due date, and we all super excited to meet this little girl. After having two boys back to back, I have to admit getting back into "girl-land" is super fun! I wanted something simple, with a few pops of color, and of course peaceful. Enjoy! Welcome friends to fall in Florida! The only sign of cooler temps around the corner is the humidity. It lowers ever so slightly and you can feel a change in the air, but let's be honest it's still 91 outside by the afternoon! Regardless of the temps, I am ready for a change in my decor....out with the color (navy blue in the summer) to neutral, black, burlap, white, and natural wood elements. I am opting out of the tradition orange this year, and so far I love the peaceful feel it brings to our home. . . .
We have had this coffee table for years! It was one of the first pieces of furniture we bought in a dark wood/leather matching room set. YIKES! :)I first painted it peach????Then white...distressed it and glazed it..... Now it is sporting a rustic farmhouse look with a newly stripped top and fresh coat of antiquing glaze. It took me 2 hours with the orbital sander to strip that baby, but pretty cool to give this table another look for no extra money since I already had all the tools!!Hope you are having a . . .
Simple Light Peaceful These are the words that ran through my mind when I started updating our master bedroom. It is right off the family room so everyone sees it when they come over which means I can't leave it for another day. Plus I have come to realize it's important to feel good about the space where you lay your head at night. Here is a fun little reminder of the journey this room has taken over the past almost 2 years :) There are a lot of little special . . .
Once upon a time (as in a few hours ago) my front entry looked like this. Which was fine, but who really wants their front entry to be just fine? Enter SW Black Fox. Oh how I am in love with this charcoal-gray-black. And I know you are not supposed to pick your paint colors in the paint store, but I did! I pick 5 that looked very similar to me, and then I walked around the store looking at them in different lights and at different angles, and sure enough one started looking too blue, too brown, . . .
I have always been a morning person. Like the kind of person who woke up at 5am ready to roll from the time she was a baby until early teens. I think my mom was a little worried. Something had to be wrong with this crazy 13 year old who woke up at 5am every morning! HA! Then I went to college, stayed up too late for 4 years, hung out with my night owl hubby, and then had 4 babies who didn't sleep through the night until they were 1 year old PLUS (Wit at 18 months!). Through those experiences I . . .
Happy Monday friends! Here is a little fall inspiration for you from my dinning room today :) I moved the curtains from the family room in here. My mom came over one Friday afternoon with a box of fall decor she was ready to get rid of, and she and Sadie went to town in here. So the space has extra warm fuzzy feelings when I am in it, because I know people I love made it theirs. My grandmother gave me this wonderful mirror. Have a wonderful day! . . .
